What the Photographs Show

These three photographs follow the replacement in stages. First, the crew removes the existing shingle roofing from multiple roof sections. Next, synthetic underlayment is installed over the deck before any new shingles go on. Finally, roofing materials are staged while the installation continues.

The roof is not finished in these images. We show in-progress work because it is the part of a roof replacement homeowners rarely get to see — and the part that matters most for long-term performance.

Why Tear-Off Matters

Removing the old roofing exposes the roof deck so it can be evaluated. Soft, damaged, or deteriorated decking can only be found and addressed once the old material is off. Installing new shingles over a problem deck hides the problem rather than fixing it.
